Prompt Word: Bind
Minervie and Chip 8
Chip was in the den, absentmindedly scratching at the edge of the bind around his ankle while reading a children’s book about a walking bear. He didn’t seem deeply troubled by yesterday’s sudden bout with danger. Not wanting to go outside could equally be due to his difficulty walking on that bruised ankle, as opposed to fear.
Minervie hoped it was just his ankle. She knew well, he could tear through the house like an overexcited puppy without being outside.
Chip looked up to Minervie watching him, “I want to go outside, but my ankle hurts.”
Minervie wondered if this had further meaning.
Chip continued, “Do you have anything to make my ankle not hurt?”
Minervie was relieved, “No, I cannot fix a bruise. I did fix the cause of the bruise.” In more meanings than one, she thought, as she remembered how much materials she lost when she’d shattered the giant spider.
