Edna did a bit of magic of her own to keep Gungan from noticing “down” while telling him the story of these mountains as told through generations of the Gubbi Gubbi people. “These mountains are the Daki Comon, though the white man calls them glass houses…”
Had the ladies not have been witches, they wouldn’t have made this a casual climb. Had the ladies not been assisting Gungan without his knowledge, he wouldn’t have been able to get above 20 feet from the base.
Not far from the summit, they came to a cave. It wasn’t very deep, but it seems they were done. Once they were fully in the cave, Edna turned Gungan “assists” off, so he’d be able to notice the view towards the East.
Minervie spoke for the first time since they started climbing, “Gungan, these things Edna have said, and this view while hearing them. That is why I thought you should see this place.”
Edna filled in, “For us witches, the sacred nature of this place also acts as a relay for great magic.”
Minervie nodded, “In this case, me getting to home instantly, so I can pick up Chip and get us both to bed. As I said, do NOT leave Edna’s side until I return.” At that she lept into the air holding her broom and case and vanished.
Gungan rubbed his eyes, and shook his head. Then he realized he’d have to get back down, and wondered why he didn’t notice how far up they’d come.
