Prompt Word: Buzzard
“So that’s the new airframe?” Command Chief Master Sergeant Dint remarked.
“Yes, the F2214-C here in front of you, and you can also see another one flying in,” Technical Sergeant Gunther pointed toward the South East.
“Those wings have an odd angle, and the flight profile seems a bit erratic,” Dint added.
“Yessir, it’s the computer controls, it does snap corrections to keep the bird flying in the right direction, but never straight,” Gunther explained.
Dint considered this for a moment, whistled, “Always amazing what the contractors come up with. Thing looks like a turkey vulture until it gets close.”
Gunther chucked, “The boys do call them buzzards, on account of that flight signature, sir.”
Bob, the contractor from NVB interjected, “You can call it whatever you like, as long as you commit to at least 20 of them.”
Dint, turned and gazed at Bob, “And if we pass?”
Bob shrugged, “NVB goes out of business, and three Massachusetts Congress critters will be looking to blame someone. Personally, I have some friends at BBBC down in Georgia, so I’ll probably land a job down there.”
Dint nodded, “Alright Bob, so in your assessment, what are the flaws?”
#wss366 (4/4)
Bob smiled, “Every decision is a tradeoff. Those snap corrections are a bit hard on the pilots, especially on a long run. That said, you already mentioned that they look like buzzards at a distance, and the radar signature also reads as a possible bird. There’s the trade.”
Dint nodded, “I have enough to write up my report. Thank you for the tour.”
