Computer prices are just starting to normalize. I walked into a MicroCenter store the other day, and they have stopped rationing video cards (and have plenty in stock, without crazy markups). I’ve also been thinking a lot about upgrading my servers… Current Server Setup Back in February of 2018, I started running my home websites on some used Rackmount servers. When I bought these, I really wanted to experience running enterprise level hardware and building up microservices on Docker with full failover, and freinds, that all works, and I learned a lot....

As I've done from time to time, this blog serves as a bit of a bench-notes of what I did.  However, maybe someone else hits the same problem, and finds my blog via search. About a month back, the new nVidia 2080 Ti card was announced.  I decided to hit up eBay to see if anyone was selling off a 1080 Ti, and I was not disappointed in the price drops....

I've used VMWare Server 2.0 Beta for about three solid hours now... Things I like. Virtual Hardware v. 7 with USB 2.0 support. Tomcat based VM monitoring, is pretty responsive. Does NOT request or attempt to "require" IIS.
